LFW: J.W.Anderson SS15

NYFW is over and LFW is here. Just like NYFW I'm viewing the collections from my bed watching live streams and refreshing my favorite bloggers instagrams.

An always highly anticipated show every season is J.W.Anderson. For SS15 it was all about the coastline/nautical vibe for J.W.Anderson with very unusual dramatic silhouettes in glorious fabrics and hues.
For the collection, Anderson paid homage to french filmmaker Jacques Tati and his famous comedic work about confusion. One thing i love about Anderson is that through his collections, through the seasons you can see how much fun he has with silhouettes etc, being different and sometimes twisted. This inspiration from Tati meant Anderson had more reason to play with his sense of humor and you can definitely see this with the off balance french riviera aura.

Typical of J.W.Anderson; recognized detail in unexpected ways, with surreal silhouettes. Here there is a playful use of leather with a blue brallette and a black body with slouchy gloves and a nautical striped backwards skirt with the gold buttons and pockets at the front. The use of leather is not surprising as Anderson is about to debut a forthcoming collection with luxury leather fashion house LEOWE.

Summer Footwear Diary 2014

This post is just a few iPhone images of my most worn footwear throughout summer 2014. The majority is sneakers because thats my favourite vibe for summer, but i would really like to find some black and brown toned boots and brogues for winter this year to change it up a bit.

Adidas originals have really made a comeback this year, especially stan smiths and superstars. I own these black suede and off white superstars with camo lining. Extremely comfy and i wore them a lot in summer.

Another massive trend was 'sliders'. Everyone from Céline to adidas had released a pair and i loved it. I jumped on the bandwagon of the adidas sliders and got this navy pair which i do love and were great in the summer, but i do wish i bought black.

These have to be one of my favourite buys this year. The converse X commes des garçons PLAY sneakers. I wore these so much in summer because they really made my outfits look a little bit more substantial and stylish.

If you didn't know, but i bet you do, the UK doesn't really get sun in the summer like other normal parts of the world, however it does mean my dr martens are not neglected. These are one of my favourites in my shoe collection. The all white mono dr martens. I bagged these for £20.20 in a boxing day sale last year and it was the best decision ever.

The last edition to my summer footwear diary are these beaut black and white reebok classics which i purchase from size?. They are so simple and nostalgic and they will go with everything and make it look a little bit more effortless i think. A great pair of sneakers i can carry on through A/W 14.

NYFW: Versus Versace X Anthony Vacarello ss15

Belgian Designer Anthony Vacarello showcased his collab with the legendary Italian fashion house at NYFW. Vacarello is actually of Italian descent and Donatella actually quotes in their style.com interview how she has watched him from the start, and Vacarello quotes 'it's a luck to work with someone who did so much iconic things and still is', making this collection so much more appreciated.

I highly anticipated this collection and was so excited for one thing in particular Vacarello says in the Style.com interview which was released 2 days before the show. He was asked what versus stands for in his opinion and he replied with 'it's the way fashion has to go, forward. everyone is copying everyone, we present a show and it's out in Zara one month later' and i'm sure i'm not the only one who agrees with him. As much as i love Zara as it suits my bank balance more than Versace, it is one big mimic.

NYFW: Alexander Wang Ready To Wear Spring '15

One of the most anticipated Spring 15 collections of NYFW has just stormed the runway and it was not disappointing. I've been slothing it in bed for the last two hours waiting for the live stream to start and waiting for some of my favorite fashion bloggers to post their instagram pics, such as Claire Marshall and Bryan Boy.

Vogue.com already has a slideshow up of the runway show so i can slowly admire each look.

The first thing i noticed whilst watching the collection was the futuristic essence it had. It involved very neat silhouettes From Maxi dresses to boxy bombers, to beautiful bralettes. but with a fresh modern finish. I think nearly every look had the stunning high neckline with varied color accenting.

This is what i adore about Wang. Your normal plain white t shirt and black shorts walked the runway but your white t shirt had elongated boxy sleeves with stunning sheer paneling and curved seams with a high metallic detailed neck. Paired with black running shorts over actual knee length suit shorts.

Do not fear, Wang did not stray from his famous monochrome color scheme, but he did parade some fresh and beautiful vibrant colors also:
NEON DREAM, three dresses in beautiful bright shades and different silhouettes. They all behold that continuous futuristic vibe with the paneling of darker hues.

Some of my other favorite looks from the collection:

Another maxi look in that amazing grey shade. Wang finishes this maxi look with a fitted long sleeve with elongated fabric button fastening stopping above the waist. Also matched with Wang's formation of the sandwich bag clutch.
I must say the flow of this dress on the live stream was sensational.
A very clean black dress upgraded with some beautiful gradient colors through the center of the dress to form this colorful bodice on the model.
Wang slayed this monochrome look with a strappy dimensional crop top that projected its own visual illusion. But what i love most about this look is the trousers. Incredible high wasted suit trousers with button poppers down the outside of the legs inspired by the 90's iconic adidas popper trackies.
A beautiful yellow ribbed top with a grey and black high neckband paired with black tailored trousers with paneled pockets and mesh heels.
one of my top faves. A crisp futuristic but ethereal look from this maxi t shirt dress with mesh paneling.
one of the dresses from the collection in a beautiful light grey hue with a red accented neck and matching grey strappy heels. The dress appears to have the finish of neoprene with its boxy finish and its car Tyre esque embossing on the entire dress.
A futuristic monochrome and red accent ensemble. The cropped boxy top is finished in gorgeous leather paneling with a modest white mesh insert down the centre.
A gorgeous white mesh/airtex boxy bomber with a forest green leather finish on the clean collar, paired with double layered and what to appears to be white leather, sports luxe shorts. This look instantly reminded me of the adidas stan smith's as they have the same color way, and quite frankly i think this ensemble with them stan smith's would be killer.
We have seen looks like this before by Brands like Balenciaga and Zara, but this is the best i've seen it yet. A boxy white neoprene suit jacket with tailored black trousers.

The textile closed in heel, closer up.
Barcode Collar detailing for this look. such an underused motif. bring it back wang yasss.

Wang included this gorgeous red blue and white textile in the collection. Here it can be seen in a halterneck crop top with a central cut out detail.

Rihanna arriving at the show in a metallic blue bucket hat and anorak dress ensemble with the red mesh heels from the show.

It's safe to say i am obsessed with this collection by Wang for Spring 15. It had once again some of his killer monochrome looks in beautiful formations, but also some stunning color pieces incorporated, all finished in amazing fabrics and paired with accessories that i'm sure Wang fans will covet.

If there was going to be one thing id change about this collection it would be i wish i didn't experience its beauty from my bed and i could see it slaying the runway in the flesh. I stay dreaming for the day to come where ill be at NYFW.

NYFW: Prabal Gurung SS15

Whoever thought last year's sport luxe trend was done and gone [if you did anyway then.. da fuq?] will be proven wrong by Prabal Gurung's SS15 collection.

The collection had a womanly elegance but an athletic/boyish edge with modern structures from dresses to suits. It included traditional Nepal floral patterns mixed with contemporary mesh and wool garments.
A lot of the pieces had several panels on them in different cuts and placements for a stylistically disorderly finish.

The androgynous essence continued through the hair with a ponytail that looked like the models scraped it back themselves after a sporty workout.

It is without a doubt that Prabal Gurung is one of my favorite designers, and this collection is a clear example of why:

NYFW: Adam Selman RTW SS15

Adam Selman's NYFW show appeared to be very fun and sassy.
Rihanna's designer friend sent his models down the runway in his SS15 collection which was very playful and energetic with its nostalgic 90's silhouettes.

There is a careless and fearless but evidently stylish vibe about this collection by Selman, which can be seen with every model in sneakers down the runway, and gowns paired with converse.

I'm sure this collection will inspire the youth of Selman's following which he has earned by dressing several celebrities, especially riri. It screams this Cool yet casual aura but could still kick start the inner teenager in any strong fashion minded woman.

It is a collection of many colors from black to red and tangerine hues.

What i loved most about the collection was the spunky use of accessories. Each model walked the runway with the number of the look they wore from the collection written on a white piece of card.

The complete collection is below:

NYFW: Jason Wu Ready To Wear SS15

I've always appreciated Jason Wu and his input into fashion. I mean, how can you NOT give the guy credit? Michelle Obama is a loyal customer of his, and he dressed her for both inaugurations.

His SS15 RTW collection walked down the runway just today [5.9.14] at NYFW and i must say it was pretty incredible.

I have looked through the complete collection from sources on the internet and the first thing i notice is the beautiful use of navy and other blue shades. I was glad to see this, as admiral navy is stunning in the summer especially the way Jason paraded it. The navy was used in a variety of silhouettes and fabrics.

It really did have a good variation of clean silhouettes. from gowns to trench coats to tailored trousers and cropped jackets.

Some of my favorite looks:

Imann Hammam, in a beautiful leather and fabric fitted dress.
London model Malaika Firth, in a crisp white collarless, mid length sleeve shirt and a navy fabric mid legnth skirt paired with a shamrock green bag.
Binx Walton in an all white and navy accessories ensemble.
Add caption

sun feifei in a jacquard light blue ensemble; a smart a-line dress and a cropped boxy blazer.
Queen Karlie Kloss stormed the runway in a silky deep navy belted trench coat with the collections chosen ponytail.
Julia Nobis in what i think is my favourite look from the collection. A Stunning navy gown with a waist plunging strappy neckline and a thin leather belt.

someone prepare my coffin cos i am DEAD. Daphne Groeneveld makes an iconic comeback on the runway for Jason Wu's SS15's collection and SLAYS in a suede olive dress with slit.

I hope a lot of people get inspired by this collection and next summer we will see deep navy and crisp white ensembles everywhere.
