Trends

one trend that i hope flourishes in FW 14/15 is the belted trench/jacket. Your average trench coat in any textile and silhouette will look like its been snatched from Milan fashion week with a nice evident belt tied around the waist.
It is an item of clothing that has such an ease about it as it primarily becomes your entire outfit.
I would personally adore the look of a belted camel trench on myself as i am really leaning towards neutral tones this Autumn/Winter.
Perfect with slim fitting ankle grazing slacks and some loafers, monk shoes or even better; some simple trainers like some stan smiths. your simple yet high fashion inspired autumn/winter uniform is complete.

Jordan, REGAL RAGS!

Early January of this year GQ posted an article of the 14 key trends to watch for fall 14/15 and number 11 was the ‘keep it gangsta’ trend. Being raised in whats infamous as the ghetto in Cardiff i was very excited to see what this trend was about and how nostalgia would remind me of the days i used to be a little thug in a Adidas tracksuit and Reebok classics (trendy right?).
But to my surprise they were actually referring to fedora’s as a trend to watch in the fall, although i never wore a jaunty fedora in my youth, i was still excited.
One accessory guys will need this autumn/winter is a felt fedora. It is an affordable high fashion silhouette that was evident on the runway for AW 14/15.
It was introduced quite heavily paired with three piece suits for that 'gangsta' look, which i must say i am a massive fan of. However the fedora transforms any outfit. Just take Pharrell and his infamous Vivienne Westwood mountain hat which he pairs with everything, rarely a suit. his uniform is some sick denim [sometimes distressed] , a graphic tee, a baseball jacket, and some sneakers/boots with heavy necklaces and the fedora still wins in this ensemble.

some of my favorite runway looks showcasing the fedora.

Another Oliver Spencer look from their AW 14/15 runway show. Like their other look earlier in the post, the fedora is paired with another roll neck sweater which i really appreciate as i think its such a dapper silhouette.

Both of the above images are from the Savile Row Aw 14/15 presentation. They are known for they're luxurious men's tailoring and they never fail to live up to this, even here incorporating the fedora. In the second image they have a camel trench coat wrapped with a belt; another trend i talked about in my previous post.
Here Thom Browne parades the fedora down the runway in an all grey ensemble in their signature unusual style. It is actually more of a cowboy silhouette but I'm obsessed and Thom Browne are such a breath of fresh air in fashion.

i am glad to report that i can incorporate this trend into my autumn/winter uniform as i own a felt
fedora myself. I picked up this awesome grey fedora from H&M at a steal of £12.99. It is going to be so versatile for when i start university, especially on them bad hair days and them 'no point in doing my hair its raining' days. I will gladly pair this with any outfit in my wardrobe. However i will probably often choose to pair it with distressed jeans, my comme des garcons sneakers, a grey or black tee and my neoprene or wool black bomber jacket for a more casual and day to day uniform.
