NYFW: Versus Versace X Anthony Vacarello ss15

Belgian Designer Anthony Vacarello showcased his collab with the legendary Italian fashion house at NYFW. Vacarello is actually of Italian descent and Donatella actually quotes in their style.com interview how she has watched him from the start, and Vacarello quotes 'it's a luck to work with someone who did so much iconic things and still is', making this collection so much more appreciated.

I highly anticipated this collection and was so excited for one thing in particular Vacarello says in the Style.com interview which was released 2 days before the show. He was asked what versus stands for in his opinion and he replied with 'it's the way fashion has to go, forward. everyone is copying everyone, we present a show and it's out in Zara one month later' and i'm sure i'm not the only one who agrees with him. As much as i love Zara as it suits my bank balance more than Versace, it is one big mimic.

Some of my favorite looks from Versus Versace X Anthony Vacarello ss15:

I love this look. This one sleeved dress LBD got given the
Versace touch. Each Panel of the dress is joined with gold Versace fastenings; the arm to the front body and the front body to the back body. It is exquisite and shows Vacarello's talent as this is a example of immaculate tailoring to the female figure without the traditional needle and thread.
Malaika Firth in a stunning risque swimsuit. The iconic Versace motif down the left panel of the swimsuit would give any lady around a pool an extra 10 style points. Like the Dress above it has a very thin metal neck halter.

A gorgeous maxi shirt dress with Gold detail and a KILLER Versace logo belt. It is constructed in a gorgeous silk fabric with a double slit down either leg. I can't even imagine how this walked down the runway, the movement would have been breath taking. See a closer up in the image below.

Supermodel Joan Smalls In and impeccably tailored all black ensemble. A very youthful but yet luxurious silk rolled sleeve t shirt with a belted leather mini skirt and circular cut leather panel flowing from the right hand side.

Lexi Boling in a gorgeously crafted mini dress with sheer paneling and monochrome Versace patterned inserts. Paired with some killer strappy heels basic socks, gives it a fresh and modern twist.

Sasah Luss in contemporary version of the classic white and black tux jacket and suit trousers. The glowing light white jacket worn as a top, seen with the Killer Versace belt and suit trousers with the collection monochrome Versace print as the tux stripe down each leg. A getup that i can definitely see Donatella inspiration in with the once again stunning tailoring.

I saw a lot of people of twitter slating the collection, saying they have seen it all before etc etc. but what i think they fail to see is the vision. Donatella called in Vacarello in some part to enforce Versus' audience. They planned to stay true to the old roots of versus and the iconic Versace logo and baroque motif's etc, with a new edge. Who else could help do that as good as someone who has loved and followed Versus Versace as a Brand since it begun, no other than Vacarello himself.

They Both jumped onto one of the latest digital fashion trends also and the whole ss15 collection could be bought as it was walking down the runway. something which Burberry put the spotlight on when their trench coats were made to order from the live runway show, where you could also add custom plaques to your trench.

Some of the beautiful Detail at the ss15 show. Vacarello was extremely excited to work with gold and play with the gold Versace lion logo and all the iconic motif's as much as he could within the collection with it still looking wearable, he says in the Style.com interview.
